Welcome to The Vital Life, where we spotlight Vital Proteins® employees. This week, Graphic Designer Jordan Nussbaum gives us a look inside her day working remotely.
Lively: Thanks for sharing your day with us! To kick things off, can you tell us about what you do at Vital Proteins and what you enjoy about your role?
Jordan Nussbaum: I am a graphic designer at Vital Proteins! My favorite thing about my role is working with SO many creative people throughout the day. My team is made up of 8 incredibly talented people, who teach and challenge me every day to be a better designer! Every day at Vital is different. Some days I’m designing emails and Instagram stories, other days I’m designing sample cards and in-store signage. The wide variety of projects keeps me on my toes and allows me to push my creative boundaries.
L: Walk us through your morning routine – how has it changed (or not) since staying home?
JN: I typically start my mornings with a 6:15 a.m. Orangetheory class. After class, I head home and take my dog, Millie, over to the dog park to burn off some of her puppy energy! When we get home, I get ready for work, make myself some breakfast, and fire up my Nespresso to make a MUCH-NEEDED iced latte with a scoop of Collagen Peptides, of course! After I have my first sip of coffee, I can then sit at my desk and respond to Slacks and open up my task list for the day!
L: Where have you been getting inspiration for projects or tasks you might be working on throughout the day?
JN: It may sound cliché but a lot of times if I’m in a design slump, I open up Pinterest. Whether it’s recipe photos, interior design inspiration – My Pinterest feed usually sparks an idea! Other times, I pull out my iPad and start doodling in procreate.
L: Lunchtime! What’s your plan?
JN: Most likely you’ll find me enjoying a salad from Trader Joe’s (southwestern chicken is where it’s at!) After I finish eating, Millie and I go on a walk in our neighborhood and get some fresh air!
L: You’re hitting your mid-afternoon slump. How do you re-energize your afternoon?
JN: COFFEE and a little break out on my balcony! It’s amazing how much standing outside for 10 minutes can re-energize you. Also, some puppy cuddles are always good for the soul.
L: How have you been practicing #wellnessfromhome these days?
JN: I’ve been baking a lot and drinking a lot of wine.
